The last time I was in Amsterdam was probably 40 years ago. I missed out on the museums, so this time, they were on top of my list of things to do, just above the tulip gardens.
Our first stop after checking into our hotel was a visit to the Van Gogh Museum. Unfortunately, they do not allow any photography. The building is beautiful and the exhibit was stunning.
I downloaded all these pictures from the Museum website.
The Bedroom – Arles in 1888, Oil on canvas. The museum’s research showed that the contrasting colors of this painting are the result of discoloration over the years. Apparently the walls and the door were originally purple and not blue.
